Frustrating page layout flaws hurt an adequate story
Apparently the publisher didn’t bother to proofread the final copy; occasional parts of the text are unreadable due to the flawed layout. This problem is present in parts 1-10, at least. Otherwise this is an adequate isekai social uplift story, though I’m not a fan of the fact that it’s published in short, cheap chapter format. It just interrupts the flow of my reading to have to buy the next installment every few minutes. Fairly typical overpowered reincarnated main character, and the alchemy aspect is disappointingly superficial, basically just ordinary fantasy magic powers by another name. Except that alchemical magic is anathema for some reason, and will apparently have some sort of consequences whenever the author finally gets around to explaining them (maybe well after part 10). Overall decent enough that I want to keep reading it, but it’s pretty formulaic isekai, except for the welcome lack of the usual isekai harem. Weakest points are the slow progress of the story, lack of any real dramatic tension, and the fact that there’s really nothing novel here. I’d rate this at around 3.5 stars if the format problems were fixed, but I wouldn’t recommend it until that’s fixed.
