The Reluctant Dom is the fourth book in the Suncoast Society series by Tymber Dalton. This is Kaden's, Seth's, & Leah's story. Kaden & Seth have known each other for over 40 years. They're not only best friends; they're more like brothers. Seth has always felt slightly inferior to Kaden, who's brilliant, full of kindness & has no problems navigating social situations. But none of that matters to Kaden. Seth is the one person who's always been there for him. He loves him unconditionally. After high school, Kaden headed for college while Seth went into basic training in the Army. Before they parted ways, however, one night, after killing a bottle of tequila together, Kaden and Seth experienced an incredible one-time three-way with a very willing co-ed. Neither has forgotten that night but they've also never really talked about it since then either. Seth's returned home. He's been through three wives & a construction business that was successful for a while. He's not destitute but he's also not rich. At first, he thinks it's one of Kaden's famous practical jokes. But he soon realizes Kaden is very serious & his friend has a year, maybe two, left before he's gone. Seth tries everything to deny it. Has Kaden gotten a second opinion? Yeah, this was the third opinion. Surely there's some sort of treatment, maybe an experimental one, that he can try. But Kaden refuses to do anything that will diminish the quality of life that he has remaining to him. There's literally nothing that can be done. Seth is devastated beyond belief. The real problem comes when Kaden has to tell Leah. What no one but Kaden & Leah know is that Leah has a troubled & abusive past. They've been married for over 20 years & to all outward appearances, they are happy & have no problems. Kaden & Leah have secrets no one else can possibly guess. Kaden needs Seth's help, not only to break the news to Leah but to help her through the coming months, to get her through the illness, his death & the aftermath. Seth is horrified. He doesn't see how he can make any difference. But Kaden is his brother. He'll do whatever he can to help both of his best friends. What Seth soon learns is that both Kaden & Leah are kinky, a part of the local BDSM scene. They belong to, are actually founding members of, the local BDSM club, Venture. Seth knows absolutely nothing about kink or BDSM. When Kaden springs his other surprise on Seth, that he wants Seth to learn about BDSM from Kaden & Leah & become the third in their relationship, Seth is dumbfounded! Yes, he's always been attracted to & more than a little in love with Leah. One of his ex-wives was the spitting image of Leah. But to intrude on his best friends' marriage & become a part of it while Kaden is dying? It's unthinkable! This is only the beginning of a story that takes you from the heights of laughter, passion & the joy & discovery of new & exciting experiences never experienced by any of the triad to the very depths of pain, agony, grief & anguish. As Seth, Kaden & Leah travel this road , you're taken on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Tymber Dalton is the consummate storyteller, and The Reluctant Dom is another exceptional book. I am constantly impressed at how accomplished she is. Her characters are always well-developed, well-written. She has a knack for understanding the very basics of human nature. Ms. Dalton is one the few authors who is an automatic buy for me whenever she publishes a new book. She is just that amazing! If you enjoy the erotic romance genre, you'll absolutely LOVE The Reluctant Dom. I highly recommend this book and give it my highest rating without reservation!

This is with out a doubt one of my favorite books. The unconditional love, tenderness, and care of all the characters was incredible. The strength of the men even when they felt weak, because of their love for the damaged girl. the sacrifices they all made. it was touching. Like all the other reviewers said, have tissues ready.
