When his wife walks out on Chris and the girls, he realizes what's important in his life...
His Best Man: Chris always knew where he was going and how to get there, but when his wife walked out on him and the girls, he realized not knowing what’s important in his life might be the problem. He’s lost touch with his daughter, his friends, and himself during his marriage. And then Bill -- his former best friend -- drops back into his life.
Witness to the Wedding: Bill and Chris have never had an easy path, and dealing with the aftermath of Chris’s marriage doesn’t make life easy. With Chris’s soon-to-be ex threatening to take their family from them, Bill’s worried loving Chris and his girls just won’t be enough.
Customer Reviews
Life gets complicated, when everything hits you at once, then you push through it.
The story jumped back and forth over the years and from Chris then Bill's point of view. I always had to reread, to figure out where the story was. Chris was an absolute hot mess! He is incredibly naïve and not instinctively forceful. He and Bill had been friends since they were little. Bill secretly crushed on Chris. Chris had a moment with Bill, but ran from it.Then they had amoment just before Chris said his vows to Stephanie, Bill's ex. They are both carrying around excess baggage, with secret pouches. They get reacquainted through a school incident with Annie, Chris' oldest daughter. They tiptoe through open doors from the past. Then they add more characters, major drama and spice it up with some kink. There are a few unexpected twists that could make everyone's lives more complicated. Does Chris get his parenting together? Does Bill walk back into Chris' life? Does Chris admit who he is? Do Annie and Pen, get an adult parent? Interesting story, but the author's format in the beginning was taxing. Lots going on, nicely done! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
