The Right Kind of Guy The Right Kind of Guy

Publisher Description

Romance novelist Kelsey Spencer doesn’t believe in love, and she's tired of faking her way through happily ever afters. Determined to change things up, she heads to the Las Vegas Romance Lovers Convention. But somewhere between half-naked cover models and hot Navy SEALs, Kelsey’s plans derail…

Especially once she meets über-fan Jasmine Grant…and Jasmine’s über-hot alphahole brother, Aaron.

Buttoned-up Aaron Grant never thought he’d find himself at a romance convention, but here he is, trying to convince his impulsive sister not to marry a beefcake cover model. His only hope is to enlist the aid of the cynical (and sexy) romance writer his sister worships.

After a sweltering jaunt around Vegas, some strange conference hijinks, and one outrageous proposal, Kelsey and Aaron are left questioning everything they know about romance and love…and if falling in love might just be worth the gamble.

A fun twisty introduction to the genre we love to read, and occasionally poke fun at.

Kelsey is a romance author, who doesn’t believe in the stories she writes: tropes, insta love, steamy connections, friends to lovers, you name it: she mocks it privately. Now the time is come to put up or shut up: the big convention in Vegas where romance fans and megafans gather to celebrate all things romance.

Megafan Jasmine is determined to find hers this year, and Kelsey and her stories are an answer. Determined to get over a broken engagement by getting under one of those hot, half-naked cover models with romance and relationship on her mind, she’s off and running. Hampered only by her brother Aaron and his determination to keep her from the biggest mistake of her life.

Oh this was fun. As Grady is poking at the over-used and repeated tropes that all romance fans have seen, she is in the middle of placing her protagonist Kelsey into the middle of the largest (and most problematic) of them all – instant connection.

Between the snide asides, clever dialogue and the sweet romance and connection that develops between Kelsey and Aaron, as well as the descriptions of out of control readers, scantily dressed cover models and the ‘what happens in Vegas stories’ that stay there, you’ll be whipping through the pages smiling often.

A fun introduction to the genre we love to read, and occasionally poke fun at.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via Edelweiss for purpose of honest review I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions and expectations are my own responsibility.

Romantic Comedy

Romance author Kelsey Spencer was in Vegas along with everyone else for the romance convention. If you wanted to break into the industry, the Comic Con of the romance genre was definitely the place to do it. She loved sitting at a signing hearing as one reader after another gushed about how the books made them feel, but she knew it was all a fantasy. That kind of love didn't really exist.
Aaron Grant flew to Vegas to rescue his little sister Jasmine from doing something stupid, something she'd regret the rest of her life. They both worked for their father's company and if she didn't return to work before Monday, their father would fire her! Jasmine came to Vegas for the romance convention to see her favorite writers, one specifically being Kelsey F***ing Spencer (as she named her), to get her book signed, and blow off some steam.
Kelsey and Aaron end up running around Vegas trying to keep Jasmine from marrying Reid one of the book cover models. While doing this, they end up hooking up, you know the saying "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!" But does that motto really ring true? Can what they feel not follow them back home to Texas? Also are they successful in stopping Jasmine? You'll have to read THE RIGHT KIND OF GUY to find out. This romantic comedy is a quick read, but a definite must read! It'll have you laughing as well as shaking your head at some of the antics that happen. I received an ARC copy via Tasty Book Tours through NetGalley in exchange for a blog tour review. Due to sexual situations, this book is recommended for readers 17 and older!

Fun read

The Vegas Romance Writers convention comes to a close with a witty tongue in cheek story of a romance writer, Kelsey Spencer, who wants to go into a different direction with her writing and super sexy brother of her biggest fan. Kelsey meets Aaron Grant as he dogs his sister at the convention trying to keep her from making a huge mistake. The hilarious banter and jabs at the industry itself make this one very entertaining read. Their chemistry is off the charts and while they make fun of the "insta-love" found in romance novels, they themselves are caught up in a whirlwind romance.

This one was fun to read and it kept me chuckling all the way through. Definitely a book I recommend to everyone.
