PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Simone (the WAGS series) delivers a grounded yet emotionally charged small-town romance in which a pregnant divorcée finds love with a widowed mayor. Grant writer Sydney Collins returns to her childhood hometown of Rose Bend, Mass., after her divorce, determined to give her unborn child the best possible life. Upon her arrival, Sydney bumps into her childhood best friend's brother, newly elected mayor Cole Dennison, and attraction immediately sparks between them. But Cole is still reeling from the death of his wife and son two years earlier and is determined to fight his feelings—a task that proves difficult when Sydney rents a home on the Dennison family's property. Close proximity and shared grief over the death of loved ones—Sydney lost her sister years before—solidifies their friendship. And when black sheep Sydney receives a less-than-warm welcome from the town at large, Cole's kind nature leads him to step in as her savior. Small-town charm, a colorful cast, and a hero to root for give this romance its legs as it moves toward a hard-earned happily ever after. Cole and Sydney's slow-burning romance is well worth the wait.

Great storyline
4.5*
I loved this book so hard and it totally deserves 5* but what took off the 1/2* is the politics of today. I prefer reading a beautiful romance and this was that but with out all that to drag it down. I continued to read passed it because I loved the storyline and the characters and the secondary characters are wonderful. I will read the next book and hope it is as emotional and funny and sexy as this one was.
3* Slow Dance at Rose Bend
This was a fun and sexy short side story and well worth the read.
Great read
Sydney breaks the old rule of you can’t go home. she returns home to Rose Bend. When her life changes she decides to find peace where she grew up. Divorced and pregnant Sydney returns home to find a place to raise her baby and move along. Cole who also suffered losses and is trying to move on. They bond because of the baby. They learn to trust each other and form a family for Sydney. A must read, anima Simone doesn’t disappoint with this great read. Waiting for the next read.
Beautiful story
What a beautiful, emotional story. Sydney shows back up in her hometown pregnant and newly divorced hoping she can start over with her (future)child. Cole (Coltrane) is trying to just make it through the day after losing his wife and son. The attraction between Sydney and Cole is immediate and yet not what Cole wants and he is going to try his darnedest to avoid. Of course these two get thrown together and again the attraction is evident and harder for Cole to deny.
This is also a marriage of convenience story, Cole offers to marry Sydney to make sure her ex husband can’t fight her for custody. This offer is tough for Cole to make but also one he doesn’t want to take back.
I really liked Sydney and the way she finally started to stand up for herself and realize what she and her baby do deserve. I enjoyed how we were able to see how her relationship changed with her parents and how it started to heal Sydney. I enjoyed this book and I can’t wait for Wolfgang’s (Cole’s brother) book. When you read this book prepare for some tears and have a tissue handy!
