It’s a typical Friday for freshman Gabe Messner: getting thrown into a dumpster by football star Mack Jacobs. Being laughed at by class hottie Athena Brand. Not getting invited to the party that has the whole school buzzing. There’s got to be more to life than this! So when Gabe’s parents leave town for the weekend, he and his best friend Dover Mikelson decide to do the unthinkable: they crack the code to his father’s basement laboratory, and cross the forbidden threshold.
