A much more fitting end.....
Season 4 of Enterprise showed a lot of promise in leading everyone to the events of the original series. The follow up novels that corrected a glaring problem in the supposed series finale have really been enjoyable. This book gave me much of what I wanted, but at times it jumped around so much that I wanted more than it gave. How did Archer become the first federation president? How did Trip and T'Pol reunite? This novel really could have been two. Otherwise I really enjoyed it. Too bad it is now over....

Just skip the Romulan war novels
What should be an epic Star Trek event novel series is a contrived plot disaster. I got to chapter 17 and I couldn't take anymore of the Trip story with the spy flipping spy plot, it's contrived and poorly written. The war itself feels like a bunch of lame skirmishes. If you want to read a good space warfare series check out the Honor Harrington novels. I am never going to read any other trek novel written by this author. I was getting no entertainment value reading this book, I was going to read it just to finish but it became too much of a chore.
