In this New York Times bestselling installment of the Strike series, detective duo Cormoran and Robin must rescue a man ensnared in the trap of a dangerous cult.
"Outrageously entertaining." —Financial Times
Private Detective Cormoran Strike is contacted by a worried father whose son, Will, has gone to join a religious cult in the depths of the Norfolk countryside.
The Universal Humanitarian Church is, on the surface, a peaceable organization that campaigns for a better world. Yet Strike discovers that beneath the surface there are deeply sinister undertones, and unexplained deaths.
In order to try to rescue Will, Strike's business partner, Robin Ellacott, decides to infiltrate the cult, and she travels to Norfolk to live incognito among its members. But in doing so, she is unprepared for the dangers that await her there or for the toll it will take on her ...
Utterly page-turning, The Running Grave moves Strike's and Robin's story forward in this epic, unforgettable seventh installment of the series.

5 Stars. These just keep getting better. When you think of the two worlds that Rowling has created, it boggles the mind. The characters around Strike and Robin, both the good and evil, are incredible and keep getting better.
The mystery here was great. It held until the end, and we got all of our questions answered. Cults are terrifying. And they seem to be in control of many things, organizations, and a certain government. This book showed just how terrifying they are. And how weak people are taken advantage of by charismatic leaders who are only interested in gaining power and wealth for themselves and a group of sycophants close to them. I wonder if she had something in mind in writing this story. The world needs more Strikes and Robins.
This is a remarkable series. Start it at the beginning if you haven’t tried it out yet. It’s just a smidge behind her other series in level of excellence.
tv is much better than the books
the TV series C.B. Strike on HBO which is based on the books is soo much better. the book writing is wordy and just average, but the tv series really highlights the dynamics of the characters and the crimes. the books are way too long unnecessarily, and the mysteries are nothing sophisticated or deep in their meanings. i would not have picked this book if it weren't for the great acting by the actors. this is the only and last book for me. back to the TV. can't wait for the next season to come out.
I love this entire series!
I feel like these character’s are real. The stories captivate me and pull me into the world of the private detectives.
