Tragedy, struggles, trickery, and survival
A new beginning then tragedy strikes. A struggle to survive and triumph over the bad guys as only Louis L’Amour can tell the stories.
Greatness
Such a great story. I would encourage new L'Amour readers to read one or two other Sackett novels before this one — even though this is probably the best of them all. There's a good reason for that recommendation, but I'm not giving away any spoilers.

Not one of Louis’s best, and I’ve read a lot of his tales. Overly complex and detailed plot and somewhat not believable happenings.
