In exotic settings
One of the reasons many Regency readers took to this author was the refreshing change of scenery, and this novel took us out of England to India. Sure, some time was spent in England, and some on the oceans between them.
I'm not sure how many plotlines were entwined--at least three or four--but it made for a compelling read. Love, revenge, thefts, intrigues--how could you as a reader lose?
