Michael Wood is a freelance journalist and proofreader living in Newcastle. As a journalist he covered many crime stories throughout Sheffield, gaining first-hand knowledge of police procedure. He also reviews books for CrimeSquad, a website dedicated to crime fiction.

Twisty and deep
This book is more about the characters than the plot per se — and very effective at developing them and keeping the reader engaged. And the narrative and plot are also full of surprises!
Quality read
This book was so well written. I read through it in less than two days and felt really satisfied with the ending. The characters were all well developed, the story was compelling and I found it interesting that I was actually finding my feelings about the main characters, including the “villain” flipping constantly during the story. I can’t remember the last book I’ve read that actually caused me to gasp at a reveal. Really well done, I’d recommend this book and will definitely look into other writing by Michael Wood
Good but too long
I enjoyed this book, but it was about 100 pages too long. I liked the main characters, but it dragged on and on at times.
