But now King Gar is wounded and the enemies who attacked him are holding hundreds of captive Yusans in their mountain stronghold. The princess knows the First Line must respond to the attack upon the king. She gathers an army and brings it to Gar, in Anton, only to find her brother was forced to leave the country.

Always viewed by the people as a secretive and sinister figure, Princess Deedar is now faced with far more daunting problems. She must lead a country that detested her father and convince its people to follow her to war inside the cursed Border Mountains, all while navigating around a formidable religious leader who is eager to challenge, not only her authority, but her very birthright.
