Publisher Description

Before Doctor Sleep, there was The Shining, a classic of modern American horror from the undisputed master, Stephen King.

Jack Torrance’s new job at the Overlook Hotel is the perfect chance for a fresh start. As the off-season caretaker at the atmospheric old hotel, he’ll have plenty of time to spend reconnecting with his family and working on his writing. But as the harsh winter weather sets in, the idyllic location feels ever more remote . . . and more sinister. And the only one to notice the strange and terrible forces gathering around the Overlook is Danny Torrance, a uniquely gifted five-year-old.

Perfect.

This book was the definition of an emotional rollercoaster. You don't just witness the family spiral out of control, you feel it. You feel their relationships, you feel their fear, you feel their love. This book is perfect.

Wow! Absolutely riveting!

I can't sing enough praises for this book. Spellbinding from the first page and kept pulling me into the story with each page turn. The ending is spectacular along with a real lesson in the human condition.

What an amazing book.

Amazing Mr. King.

I've read "The mist" before this, and nothing got me out of that book. You are super talented and I would recommend ALL the books from Mr. King. You are my favorite author as well! Keep writing! I can't wait to read "The institute"! It looks amazing
