PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Alexander's Millworth Manor crew (The Scandalous Adventures of the Sister of the Bride) is in for a treat in the person of one Jackson Quincy Graham Channing, whose orderly life plan is thrown into some disarray by an unexpected family connection. Seems that Jack is the long lost American son of Col. Basil Channing and heir to the British Briston family fortune. Not that he needs the title or the money: he's also the heir apparent to the Graham, Merryweather, and Lockwood financial empire. In England, Jack becomes acquainted with his overseas kin and meets his intellectual and romantic match in the form of Lady Theodosia Winslow. No Alexander romance is complete without her trademark droll banter, charming characters, and well-placed plot twists, and Jack and Teddy are two of her all-time finest creations. She pays far more attention to dialogue than forward movement of the plot, but Regency romance fans who are in it for the gowns and merriment will be thoroughly entertained.

The Shocking Secrets of a Guest . . . Wedding. Oceanrosebud
Glowing characters who are unusual making this a truly wonderful story (Jack and Teddy). The secondary characters are those we knew from Alexander's previous novels, and they continue to have the charm we liked them for in their own stories. The dialogue is excellent between all, and the plot moves along with some unusual twists. I disagree with the PWR that said it plodded along. Also I disagree with their comment that it is all about the dresses. Did PRW and I read the same novel??? However, a good book that was an interesting and very good reading right to the very last page?
