Customer Reviews
Very helpful
This book really uses the multimedia ebook format to provide historical and practical info, good advice, and challenging arrangements for the developing mandolin player. Fine selection of tunes.
Excellent Release!
This is an excellent eBook. It combines explanatory narrative, web links to relevant material, pictures and artwork, sheet music and actual recorded audio of well researched Old Time tunes for Mandolin. While the multimedia elements are great, the actual tune arrangements are what really shine. Learning any of these tunes will not only add to your technique, but give your repertoire a serious boost of originality. The tunes are not beginner material, but could certainly be learned by most mandolin players who have some experience with the instrument, and with learning new music. Highly recommended!
Good book!
it sounds odd, but you purchase a mandolin book for the music, in this case you get so much more that that-a very good history and ethnology of Appalachian fiddle tunes, the important regional players, none of whom I was previously aware of, and all of this packed into a gorgeous and well produced E-book. The photo quality, art work, and interactive links work perfectly, making this well worth the purchase and a well done to Mr. Tanner. and thank you, I have learned some good new stuff, and more history
