The Sometimes Door

Imagine waking up when you hear a door creaking and finding a door that wasn't there when you went to bed. A door that is only sometimes there. Arapera goes through the door, climbs the stairs and finds herself in Otherworld, where nothing seems to have changed since the 1960s. But Otherworld is strange and sometimes scary. Nobody there goes out after dark - they stay inside and pull all the blinds and curtain. There is a legend about spirits that roam at night.

Then Arapera meets Troy, a boy from her own world on a mission to find a little boy. Together they work through problems and find solutions and Arapera finds herself drawn to this older boy, who seems to always be in control of himself and everything around him.
