Timeless classic
Great one night read. It maybe an old book, but has no less impact now. Classic sci-fi space story. Might be a tad loose on some of the details, like if the Masters had all this power why they didn't just barrel in and nuke earth first, but still a good page turner. Just what I was looking for this evening.
The Star Conquerors
This is a great book. Has always been one of my favorites. I first checked this book out at the library and read it when I was 10 years old. I turned 60 last month. I could never find a copy except on E Bay for hundreds of dollars. Now, just as then, I just couldn't put I down. So glad that the author decided to make it available again.
My Favorite SciFi novel.
This is the book that fired my permanent interest in science fiction. I think that Gene Roddenberry must have used this story as his blueprint for Star Trek, from the charismatic, courageous starship commander, to the intrigueing mentally disciplined alien who is his closest advisor and friend., to the epic space battles, you see it all here. I think Ben Bova deserves a lot of credit for the 60's TV sci-fi explosion, due in part I believe, to this novel.
