A satisfying HEA that readers will love!
Five years before this story begins, Evangeline, the Hawk of Inverfyre’s daughter, saved the life of Ramsay MacLaren when she helped him to escape certain death in her father’s dungeon. Ramsay was immediately taken with the beautiful and rebellious young woman but believed her above his station and out of his reach. When he hears that she is betrothed to a man who Ramsay knows to be a cruel, heartless beast who cheats ruthlessly at tournaments, he sets out to warn her. When, against Ramsay’s advice she continues on to her betrothal, she inadvertently witnesses the intended groom commit a horrible crime. As the only witness, her life is soon threatened. Ramsay again sets out to rescue her, risking his own life and liberty in the process. While Evangeline is enamored of Ramsay, she believes him to be a brigand, preying on hapless travelers to support himself and a man who will never get her father’s approval to marry her. The characters in this novel are fully fleshed out, acting according to their described nature, I.e., the villain is truly horrible and the hero noble to a fault. Exactly what the reader will expect and revel in. The writing is beautiful and appropriate to the time period in Scotland where the story takes place. I highly recommend this latest addition to The Brides of Inverfyre series and can attest to a satisfying HEA that readers will love! A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion.
Exciting and a HEA
This book just reminded me why I love reading historical romance. It was exciting and just what my heart needed, a happily-ever-after.
