Publisher Description

The Strange Fruit Diaries reads as a dynamic conversation between author and society that is both seductive and uncomfortable. It provides a riveting on-again, off-again affinity that binds African Americans--and most Southerners-- to religion. It aggressively exposes the slave mentality that perpetuates itself generations later, while bravely dissecting the pathology of the home front from a 21st century point-of-view.

There is no blame along this journey. There is no “white devil.” There is only one desire: Freedom. It is with that goal that I have written this piece. I have written it with the person who struggles to conform to a world so different than their own truth in mind. This is not a coming out story as much as it is a story that gives an account of going within to discover one's true self.

Masterful Body of Work

This writing has been very fruitful. Emotions were pouring off the book into me. At times it’s as if I could feel the hurt that the author felt, the emotional turmoil, the joy, the peace, the growth. I can only thank the author for being fearless bold and importantly obedient. Thank you.

One man's truth is another man's treasure

This memoir is a riveting and provocative examination of the plight of the African-American male in America with a twist. This memoir challenges the the infrastructure of the African-American community and the oversight of its taboos. This is not a story of bitterness but of truth, love, and freedom. I truly have grown from this reading this memoir. Forgiveness is the heart of peace.
