“[A] satisfying page-turner, complete with adorable animals and an idyllic summer setting.”—Publishers Weekly on The Summer of No Attachments
Summer flings with no strings mean nobody gets hurt.
At least, that was the plan…
After putting the brakes on her dead-end relationship, local veterinarian Ivey Anders is ready to soak up this summer on her own terms. The way she sees it, no dating means no disappointment. Why complicate life with anything long-term? But when she meets Corbin Meyer—and his troubled young son, Justin—Ivey’s no-strings strategy threatens to unravel before she can put it into practice.
Trust doesn’t come easy for Ivey’s best friend, Hope Mage, a veterinary-clinic assistant who’s affected by an incident that’s colored every relationship she’s had. Though Hope’s happy for Ivey, she can’t quite open her own heart to the possibility of love. Not just yet… Maybe not ever. Soon, however, she’s faced with a dilemma—Corbin’s older brother, Lang. He’s charming, he’s kind…and he may just be the reason Hope needs to finally tear down her walls.
And as the sweet summer months unspool, the two friends discover love won’t give up on them so easily.
Don't miss The Honeymoon Cottage, an all-new romantic family saga by Lori Foster where locals of a quirky small town help an on-the-shelf wedding planner find her own happily-ever-after.
Love arrives when it's least expected in this cute romp from Foster (The Somerset Girls), which centers on Sunset, Ky., veterinarian Ivey Anders and her close friend and vet tech, Hope Mage. Ivey has recently ended a bad relationship, and while she's not ready for more commitment, she's also not opposed to a fling but she never anticipated attractive single father Corbin Meyer. Corbin has only recently taken in Justin, the 10-year-old son he never knew he had, after Justin's mother, a high school ex of Corbin's who struggles with drug addiction, abandoned the boy. So while Corbin may not exactly be fling material, his chemistry with Ivey is undeniable and their genuine connection outweighs Ivey's reluctance to embark on a new relationship. Meanwhile, Hope develops feelings for Corbin's brother, Lang, but struggles with traumatic memories of a brutal attack that left her distrustful of men. Lang, however, proves he is more than willing to be careful with her heart. The strong female protagonists and their sweet friendship enhance the romance as both Ivey and Hope learn to embrace new love. The result is a satisfying page-turner, complete with adorable animals and an idyllic summer setting.
Summer sun, fun & sass… 🏖😎♥️
Lori Foster hits it out of the park again… I love her Summer reads so much, and this is no exception. Corbin & Lang are two brothers that any red-blooded woman would want. They’re sexy, strong, capable men with all the grit & determination to make them fine as heck! 😉
Ivey & Hope are so lucky to find such wonderful men who help create the heat in this book to go with the heat of the summer. Lots of sass among this bunch which is fun to read as well as be able to laugh along through a wonderful summer read.
Warning ⚠️ If you’re afraid of cute & innocent animals and children, then this book may not be your thing… I, however, love both & they make Lori’s stories so special every time! ♥️
Although I finished it, this book bored me terribly.
Summer of Love, Family, and Puppies
Both couples in The Summer of No Attachments share an emotional bond that transports the reader into their world. This is another story from Lori Foster that proves how family can have many definitions but above all the family that you choose to have in your life is the best. Both women in this story have their own backgrounds and hardships but they have become sisters who found each other along the way. They share an unbreakable bond which is only strengthened when the Meyer brothers enter the picture.
The only part of this story I wish I could change was to make it longer. I wanted more of each of the girl’s stories and almost wish they were in separate books so I could continue on the adventures with them. I hope there will be another story in Lori Foster’s future that will include these characters!
I loved this book! Any story that includes animals already wins bonus points in my heart but the way that Lori Foster delivered the romance and heart made this the perfect summer read!
This book is meant to be devoured under the sun, on a beach towel, while sipping a yummy beverage. It is the perfect summer read! (Although I will read it again during any season)
As always, Foster delivers the reader a story that will warm their heart along with some adventure along the way.
