Not perfect, but a satisfying story of art and artists
Art, and especially the process of making it, is not easy to write about. The Swan Thieves succeeds to a higher degree than many. The narrative, with the shifts between centuries, is overlong and sometimes a bit turgid, but the point of the story is carried well by a cast of characters that play their parts well.
The Swan Thieves stole my heart
I have read every book by this author;sadly this was my last one and perhaps for me the best because of the subject of painting is at the centre of the story . All of her books are so vividly written, the characters addicting, the stories captivating. I wish I had 4 more to plough through.
I love kostova's work and this was even better than the historian. This one has made all through my office at work with rave reviews from everyone. I wish I had found her later in her career so I would have more of her work to read!
