The Synaxarium of The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church

This book gives of the lives of the saints of the Ethiopian church, as translated by Sir E. A. Wallis Budge in 1928. The lives are arranged according to the Ethiopian calendar with the corresponding western Gregorian dates given as well.


The Ethiopian church is one of the oldest expressions of Christianity, having faithfully preserved the stories and traditions both from their Jewish ancestry,

through King Solomon, and from their Christian heritage, through the preaching of the apostles and other saints. This Synaxarium (collection) presents the lives of the most holy men and women known to the Ethiopian church.
