Great first YA by JL Berg!
I have read several of J.L. Berg's books and loved them all. So when I saw she was stepping out of her comfort zone and writing a YA I was curious. Then when I saw the cover for this book and read the synopsis I was sucked in. I knew I had to read.
I was expecting a little pulling at the heart strings but I wasn't expecting this. Gah!!! What an emotional read.
This book was filled with devastation, stolen innocence, heartache, self blame. As the story progresses J.L. Berg fills us with growth, hope, strength, healing and so much love.
Even though the plot was hard to take at times it was very well written and I loved all the characters that played a roll in the story. I don't want to say a whole lot more because I don't want to give anything away. Even if you don't read YA or are on the fence about reading this book I think you should give it a try. You won't be sorry!!!!
