The novel opens in New England 15 years after the first novel ends. Aunt Lydia has become a renowned educator, an ally of Gilead's spy chief, and an archivist for Gilead's secrets. Sixteen-year-old Daisy in Toronto discovers she is the daughter of a runaway handmaid after the people she thought were her parents die in an explosion. Aunt Lydia brings the girls together under her tutelage, then sends them off to try to escape with Gilead's secrets. Since publication, The Handmaid's Tale has appeared as a movie, graphic novel, and popular miniseries. Atwood does not dwell on the franchise or current politics. Aunt Lydia does it again
Being a fan of watching Handmaids tales I couldn’t wait to read this. It was nice to see Hannah and Nicole meet. The story explained Aunt Lydia more which made me not hate her.
A cautionary tale
The Testaments is an excellent follow up to the Handmaid’s Tale & a beacon of hope for the future.

Awww.. l thought there was another installment. This is how much enthralled l was, l read the two books under a week!!. Such a frightening thought about society being brought these levels, even more terrifying is, it’s a possibility this can translate into real life some time in the future.
