The term "time machine", coined by Wells, is now universally used to refer to such a vehicle.

Imagine the w-a-y distant future from the perspective of the 19th century. Makes an interesting and fun read.

Superb book of mystery! A little confusing at the beginning, but ends up as a loving story of trust in the unknown future.
