Publisher Description
The Turnpike is pseudo-memoir about the struggle of a young man to escape the inheritance of the shattered hopes, dreams, and lives of his parents. The young man roams New York City, self-cannibalizing himself with alcohol and sex until he escapes the city to impossibly collide with his dead father on the great American highway.

The Turnpike
“The Turnpike” takes the reader on a free-wheeling, wild and great adventure. Sibbitt creates characters that are fresh, funny, outrageous, flawed and lovable. I found myself laughing out loud and at the same time in a melancholy world that at times is profane, naughty and yet profoundly spiritual.
For those of us who sometimes feel so alone this book is imagination at its finest and a great lyrical friend to sit with. This book is filled with vivid and strange details. I found it to be oddly comforting and a real modern-day testament to our fractured world.
