The Ugly Little Tree

This is a short story, with pen and ink illustrations, about a small pine tree which was cut down as a Christmas tree. It was very small and not mature or filled out with fine branches and needles like the other trees being cut down for sale in the city.
It is a story of rejection by the public of the little, not fully grown tree and its eventual triumph. The book is child friendly and the illustrations lead each paragraph. The images are simple and a child can easily follow the story just by looking at the illustrations.
