The Unthinking Destroyer

This is a novel book. Gordon and Harold both admitted the possibility of thinking entities other than human. But would they ever recognize the physical form of some of these beings? A cute, short, story about recognizing intelligent alien life. For a change, they smoke pipes rather than cigarettes in this one. It reminded me of Katherine MacLean's story 'The Natives'. Unfortunately, I quickly figured out who the alien life forms were. You won't harm yourself reading it; the writing is fairly well-crafted.
