Fan of Romance
This was hands down one of the best stories I’ve ever read!!! It kept me on the edge of my seat wondering how it would work out! Thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
Not what I expected! Loved it!!!
Anyone who has ever read romances from Tule Publishing, that take place in Marietta, Montana, knows who Carol Bingley is. And I’m sure I would be hard-pressed to find someone who actually liked her. She is a gossip and a busybody and just downright mean. She has no filter when she speaks to people and does not care one bit if she hurts anyone’s feelings. For the last several years, as I have been reading romances with mentions of her, I have disliked her. So, when I saw this book that would explain her behavior, I couldn’t get it quick enough. I wonder though how would the author describe Carol’s behavior and justify it at the same time. Would I actually like her by the time I turn the last page? I am not going to give you any details, but I will tell you that I was surprised by what I was reading. Carol, definitely was mistreated in her youth as far as I’m concerned. People who should have loved her, and protected her did a poor job of it.
I loved the relationship between Carol and Frank. He was everything a woman would want in a husband. I honestly don’t know where he learned to be so patient but he was. And thankfully for Carol he loved her dearly.
There is a lot going on as the book goes back and fourth from present to past. And the last chapters were incredible. I easily gave this book five stars. And I hope there will be more mentions of Carol and Frank in future books.
While I received and advanced reading copy of this novel, this is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it.
