Nice read. Never heard of it before. Many details missed in editing. None that detract from the story, though.

If you've ever lived in Northern California and were curious about what life was like 100 + years ago this is the book to read. Whip out the mapping app or a real map also ...check out the places mentioned. See how they've changed or not.
And have fun! But, be prepared to read about overt jealousy and racism....it's what happened back then...accept it has history and hope it stays in history.
