On Christmas morning, the best present in the Boy's stocking was the Velveteen Rabbit — brown and white with long whiskers and stuffed with fluff. The Boy loved the Velveteen Rabbit, and the Rabbit loved the Boy. When the Rabbit learns about Real from the Skin Horse, he looks for a way to become Real himself. He learns that the only way to become Real is to be loved first.
Hague's warm paintings give a soft sheen to Williams's classic story. Ages 5-10.
This has been my favorite children's story since I first heard it when I was little (I'm 16), because I, like the boy, had a stuffed rabbit that went everywhere with me. It's a very touching story(I'm not afraid to admit that it has made me tear up a bit) and the ebook is very well presented. I'm impressed, especially since it's free. (:
Perfect for kids about 4 to 8 super
