The View from Poplar Street

Poplar Street is in the older part of town, two blocks from the
business district. In the 1930 Poplar began at the outskirts and from
Mansfield's pasture and dairy on one end to the railroad tracks and
river on the other. In my mind it was the prettiest street in town.
Small homes were tucked in among large ones. Lawns were cared of.
Tree branches reached out to shade the walks and roadways.
