# 1 New York Times Bestseller
The inspiration for season two of BRIDGERTON, a series created by Shondaland for Netflix, from #1 New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn: the story of Anthony Bridgerton in the second of her beloved Regency-set novels featuring the charming, powerful Bridgerton family.
ANTHONY’S STORY
This time the gossip columnists have it wrong. London’s most elusive bachelor Anthony Bridgerton hasn’t just decided to marry—he’s even chosen a wife! The only obstacle is his intended’s older sister, Kate Sheffield—the most meddlesome woman ever to grace a London ballroom. The spirited schemer is driving Anthony mad with her determination to stop the betrothal, but when he closes his eyes at night, Kate’s the woman haunting his increasingly erotic dreams...
Contrary to popular belief, Kate is quite sure that reformed rakes do not make the best husbands—and Anthony Bridgerton is the most wicked rogue of them all. Kate’s determined to protect her sister—but she fears her own heart is vulnerable. And when Anthony’s lips touch hers, she’s suddenly afraid she might not be able to resist the reprehensible rake herself...
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
This Regency romance, the second book in the hit Bridgerton series, is a seductive, witty blend of fiery contempt and searing sexual tension. The infamous playboy Anthony Bridgerton has supposedly reformed himself—his engagement to young Edwina Sheffield is the talk of the town. But Edwina’s sister Kate doesn’t buy the blindingly handsome bachelor’s transformation, engaging Anthony in a delicious battle of words. We loved every second of Shonda Rhimes’ Bridgerton screen adaptation—and this rapturous, transportive read is equally entertaining. Julia Quinn’s irresistible tale mixes an aristocratic air and a knack for juicy drama. Prepare to laugh, swoon, and (ahem) blush.

lovely read
really liked it. i had to get it because this season’s was really good so i was very much intrigued.
Good
I still think I liked the show better but this was good. They are totally different stories. There was more of a soap opera in the show, and the show does have more interactions with other characters. In the book, Edwina was not smitten so Anthony was not as cruel as he was on the show. The book follows stereotypical rules of romance novels, so Kate had to be less pretty because she was tall with brown hair and Anthony had to be a little misogynistic, which I hate. I do think the show messed up when they didn’t add the library scene, but that’s a review for the show. I think it would have been good to add Anthony’s humming into the show.
