Horrible book. Poorly written.

I actually loved the first book in this series. The idea of the book and what it could be was intriguing. You have the main plot and the appropriate surprises/side stories that follow along with the main plot. But as I continue to read the series the writing gets redundant. The dialogue between the characters doesn’t change. It’s emotionless, secretive, pointless, and a lot of screaming for no reason. Nothing comes of it. There is no character development. The other redundancy is the main girl going thru an issue, sometimes big sometimes small, and she reflects on being broken. “I realized that I am broken” has been used countless times. And every time something slightly different goes on in her head she thinks she is dead.

The spelling mistakes and poor grammar are countless. Ex: the fire melted at my feet. The writing is completely juvenile.

(Spoilers) Then there’s the plot. Apparently it gets worse from the world ending to the world ending. All the characters are distraught over it but nothing has changed. Then the plot gets more complicated. And if that’s not enough there are even more side stories added. The drama is getting seriously annoying. Every single character is acting childish and I mean childish. The characters are not acting remotely close to their given age.

There was also 34 unnecessary and overly dramatic side stories that had nothing to do with the plot. There was way too much going on. Even the author couldn’t keep up with it! That’s bad. This book was completely pointless. You can read the first chapter and the last chapter and not miss anything. Honestly I felt like the author created this book to pull in extra money. When I found out that the original future was supposed to be the main two characters dying I was thrilled because they are so annoying. You know it’s a poorly written book when you don’t even like a single character. And the main characters were my least favorite of all.

Lastly, the author isn’t imaginative, she gets her ideas from Harry Potter. The mark of malfiscus is basically the deathly hollows symbol. The death eaters are dementors.
