But when Taylor is late to work one day, Trevor becomes livid, endangering his life and the secrets of their buried past. Thibodeaux (The Inheritance) produces a melodramatic novel about family and Christian healing. While the story is somewhat plausible, the sensationalized details that drive the novel's mawkish romances weaken rather than strengthen the book's religious message.
