Representatives of the Ironship Trading Syndicate face off against the Corvantine Empire's agents, each vying for access to the dwindling supply of dragons on the Araddsian continent. As the conflict between the two nations grows, a group of intrepid explorers heads out in search of a mythical white drake. Ryan handily juggles draconic fantasy, espionage, and steampunk naval fiction with realism and effortless skill.

Exhilarating
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's fast-paced, but in a way that allows you to keep up and truly bond with the characters. I loved the blend of science and magic, as well as the reminder of how greed and/or love can shape us.
Complicated!
Very complicated; 3 or more stories to follow going back and forth. A lot of characters to follow and then they are killed off. Interesting though if you can keep everything in place. Lots of action after the plot is revealed. Pretty gruesome scenes and descriptive.
Unique Story
Not your standard dragon fantasy. He created a really cool world. The story is emotional and keeps you on edge. Only fault would be that at points the vocabulary is overly complicated, for instance the author uses the word imbibe for drink. I would definitely recommend this book excited to read the rest of the series.
