It was good until the ending
Too many things left hanging at the end.
Does the dad come home after the war? If so, do they stand up to him?
Does the boyfriend survive the war? Does she become a nurse or a doctor? It’s like all of a sudden, the author gave up and stopped writing one day. So abrupt with no closure.
