War in the air

H G Wells must himself be a time traveler. Published in 1907, 3 years after the Wright Brothers’ flight, he tells of many advances years in the future. Well told.

Jonathan Pressman ,

Wells was a prophet

HG Wells predicts future events and technologies with stunning accuracy. This book starts off in a small town that could be anyone's home town, and features a kid that you could have gone to high school with. He is, by chance, cast into the center of an apocalyptic war that threatens to end our way of life. Thrilling and darkly funny, The War in the Air is a must read.
