Publisher Description
War is only the beginning…
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes book four in her Blood and Ash series.
From the desperation of golden crowns…
Casteel Da’Neer knows all too well that very few are as cunning or vicious as the Blood Queen, but no one, not even him, could’ve prepared for the staggering revelations. The magnitude of what the Blood Queen has done is almost unthinkable.
And born of mortal flesh…
Nothing will stop Poppy from freeing her King and destroying everything the Blood Crown stands for. With the strength of the Primal of Life’s guards behind her, and the support of the wolven, Poppy must convince the Atlantian generals to make war her way—because there can be no retreat this time. Not if she has any hope of building a future where both kingdoms can reside in peace.
A great primal power rises…
Together, Poppy and Casteel must embrace traditions old and new to safeguard those they hold dear—to protect those who cannot defend themselves. But war is only the beginning. Ancient primal powers have already stirred, revealing the horror of what began eons ago. To end what the Blood Queen has begun, Poppy might have to become what she has been prophesied to be—what she fears the most.
As the Harbinger of Death and Destruction.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
The fourth installment in Jennifer L. Armentrout’s red-hot Blood and Ash series will make your heart race in more ways than one. Poppy and Casteel have been through a lot. (We highly recommend starting this series from the beginning.) Ever since Cas offered to become the malicious Blood Queen’s prisoner in exchange for Poppy’s life, Poppy has made it her mission to destroy the evil woman’s throne. Armentrout blends fantasy and romance perfectly—we loved how the searing connection between these lovers burns bright even when they’re apart. We also enjoyed the book’s shifting points of view, especially since they finally gave us a first-person window into Casteel’s heart. If you like your complex fantasy world-building with a generous side of steamy sexiness, do not pass up The War of Two Queens.
Customer Reviews
Great with one exception.
Great book the amount of sex scenes gets old in this last book. I would still recommend the series.
Oh my gods
I’ve read each book of this series so far. The story line is great and so is the love story.. I can’t figure out who’s hotter Cas or Kieran?! But there are ALOT of different gods and worlds and the story of their creation and demise etc.. U cannot pick up any of these books wo reading previous ones. I found myself rereading a few chapters to get a better understanding or clear up confusion.. Overall a good read, I’m looking forward to book 5.
World changing events
Casteel has been captured. Poppy has to find a way to free him and fight the war her mother has incited.
There has been some controversy regarding how certain things were portrayed in this book. I’m going to address this right off and say that I do not feel that the author was in any way unfaithful to the character and story development she had established In previous books.
This book begins almost immediately after the events of the last book. There is so much forward movement of the plot that sometimes has t can be overwhelming to remember everything but in the end it all pays off. I love how in-depth the world building is and how the author brings her characters to life.
I am so excited to see what happens going forward.
