PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Tabitha Girard, the heroine of this fast-moving if farfetched romantic thriller from Campbell (A Stranger on the Beach), gets a second chance at love when fate brings gorgeous Connor Ford back to their New Hampshire hometown after a summer fling 13 years earlier when they were teens. Their lives have since taken opposite trajectories: Tabitha's barely making ends meet waitressing after divorcing her abusive husband, while Connor has married a much older widow, heiress Nina Levitt. And yet, he manages to persuade her they're destined to be together, if only he can somehow wriggle out of his marriage without triggering the draconian prenup. Things quickly turn dicey as Nina smells a murder plot, Connor blows alternately hot and cold, and even a trusting soul like Tabitha starts to suspect that Mr. Wonderful just might be setting her up. Campbell shifts the action among dazzling locations ranging from Nina's oceanfront Southampton estate to Dubai, but without significantly deepening the characters. For those craving sudsy escapism, this page-turner is poolside ready.

Couldn’t put it down! Loved it!
Wow! I couldn’t put it down! The Wife Who Knew Too Much was such a compelling read! It was a perfect mixture of suspense, thriller, and mystery!
What makes this book different from others and why would anyone care?
This book was different from others because the author wrote with such perfection and clarity about each of the characters that it was easy to see them all as suspects. I think people would enjoy it even more than reading a book where you’re simply trying to decide between 2 or 3 people. The author had enough characters to keep me interested and guessing, but not so many that I couldn’t remember the details. Some characters had minor roles, but even the minor characters had motives. I loved the back and forth flow of the timeline too. Altogether it was just a very compelling and fantastic book!
Plot: Tabitha and Conner met and fell in love when they were teenagers, but it wasn’t meant to be. Years later, Tabitha is working as a waitress in the same town she grew up in. It had been over a decade since she had seen Conner. In that time she had married and divorced a man named Derek, and was glad to keep her past behind her, During that time, Conner married a woman well above his age (Nina Levitt). Nina had previously been married to a multimillionaire who passed away, and therefore inherited his incredible fortune and business. After his passing, Nina met Conner and within a few months they were married. One evening when Tabitha was working, Conner showed up in her restaurant and it brought back the flood of memories and intensity of their teenage love. He was married, but claimed he still loved Tabitha and that he and Nina were going to get a divorce. Tabitha always held onto her love for Conner, the only true love she’d ever felt, and promised to wait for him until his divorce with Nina was finalized. Plans didn’t go accordingly though because Nina was found dead in the pool at their mansion...and, of course, then there were the obvious and not so obvious suspects. Who could be trusted? Who was covering up secrets? Who was lying? Did everyone have a secret? Yes, everyone had secrets! Some were just bigger and more dangerous than others. Be prepared for a wild roller coaster of a ride with this book! I’m definitely a fan now and will be getting other books by Michele Campbell. Thank you Netgalley, the author, and publisher for allowing me to read this free preview copy. My review is voluntary, and my opinions expressed are honest.
