Publisher Description

Like no other masterpiece of historical fiction, Herman Wouk's sweeping epic of World War II is the great novel of America's Greatest Generation.
Wouk's spellbinding narrative captures the tide of global events, as well as all the drama, romance, heroism, and tragedy of World War II, as it immerses us in the lives of a single American family drawn into the very center of the war's maelstrom.
The Winds of War and its sequel War and Remembrance stand as the crowning achievement of one of America's most celebrated storytellers.

Ditto! Glad I read this review before buying from Apple
I thought it was just the Kindle version

Spell Check!

Herman Wouk was my father's favorite author; and rightly so. It is unfortunate the electronic editions of The Winds of War and War and Remembrance are full of quirky, garbled text that detract from these otherwise brilliant narratives. Was a spell check not available? To pay for such complacent mediocrity is insulting.

Winds of War

This and the sequel ( War and Remembrance) are my all time favorite novels. I have read them 5 times.
