Written well but male lead is meh
I came here from booktok, this text is well written, but sometimes it seems like the male lead only cares about spice. In some scenes she has legitimate concerns about their relationship, but all he wants to do is smash
Near constant damsel in distress
The main female character feels weak and helpless for the vast majority of the book, which was far from enjoyable. There was technically a valid plot reason why she was, but the book would have been better off removing that plot point and just giving this character a less damsel-in-distress feel for most of the book. If you love the throne of glass series, this character doesn’t really do any interesting or empowering scheming like Caelena.
