Re-read the original book RIGHT AFTER reading this book!

The original book suddenly became much richer and more enticing after I finished this Behind the Story, I HAD to open up the original book once more! What a way to increase the reading experience! Highly recommended!

The story of The Winter Palace is about Russia’s Catherine the Great’s beginning in the eyes of a palace spy. Sophie, former name of Catherine, and Varvara, the spy, had one thing in common with the author—they were all immigrants. Catherine was German that immigrated to Russia, Varvara was Polish who’d immigrated to Russia, and Eva Stachniak was Polish who’d immigrated to Canada. What was amazing is that there had been no mainstream novels about Catherine the Great for years—though she’d always been historians’ favorite.
