Well written, entertaining and stunning world building
This is a fantastic start to a series, these characters are great and heartwarming. The world that C.A. Worley spun with her word is beautiful, creative, magical and full of danger and pain as much as love and wonder. This story is funny and full of miscommunication between these two newlywed royals as well as a dangerous threat looming in the background. The action and mystery throughout made for a page turner and the romance and steamy interludes were equally intriguing. I could not put this book down and very much look forward to reading the rest of this series.

The world of imperium is awesome! Love the 4 kingdoms different perspectives. Everything is smooth and although every book can be read in whichever order, reading in order brings the whole story together perfectly!
The different characters and factions’ abilities are well put together.
Every storyline is well different but intricate with the others.

Loved this story so much. Loved the characters. Loved that even though it was fairly short, it was a great, complete story because the author didn’t need to fill space with unnecessary descriptions and inner dialogue. CA Worley has created a world that I can be excited to read about without over complicating it. Oh yeah, I also thoroughly enjoyed the steamy sex scenes that were simple but HOT! Can’t wait to read the rest of this series!
