Cliff hanger with a twist
This was a middle of the road read for me. Some parts were enticing and others fell flat. I appreciate the story line, but it just seemed familiar and over saturated. I would read a sequel just to find out what happens to both Laura and Emma.
Captivating but unrealistic ending
Not thrilled with the ending. Nobody including junior staff psychologist questioned extensive knowledge of “Laura” and deceit in treatment of Emma especially at the end. Police didn’t bother to check Conner’s phone to see dual relationships or his backgrounds, receipts, etc? The ending was a huge let down. Moving on to another author rather than risk spending more time reading additional novels with cringe worthy endings. Not the same caliber as a Blake novel.
