The Wormwood Event

The Wormwood Event

The night the Wormwood Star burned across the sky, Grace Juarez lost everything she thought she understood about the world.

She was supposed to be a computer science student - someone who'd spend her life writing code, not surviving it. Then the dead began to rise, civilization buckled overnight, and the roommate she'd shared a dorm room with became something no longer human. In the chaos that follows, Grace finds herself clutching the one inheritance she never wanted: a set of her family's old papers, dense with equations, star-charts, and dates that shouldn't mean anything - except that they keep coming true.

The more she reads, the less she can trust her own mind. Waking nightmares bleed into memory. The line between what happened and what's still happening starts to disappear. And as the ruins of the Rational world give way to something far older and far hungrier, Grace begins to suspect she isn't just a survivor of the apocalypse.

She might be the reason it started.

A tight, unrelenting descent into cosmic horror, The Wormwood Event pulls no punches - this is JM Guillen's Irrational Worlds at its bleakest, for readers who want their apocalypse to cost something.
