The wreck of the titan
A hidden gem of 3 seafaring journeys. I read the book to explore the first story which happens to be about a grand unsinkable ship which is short of lifeboats and hits an iceberg in the middle of the night in April. Written in 1898, it was an unknown foreshadowing of an actual event yet to occur in April of 1912 to the titanic. Amazingly the ship in this story sinks during the crossing from New York to England.
The Steamship, Titan
A fascinating novel regarding the demise of the steamship, Titan. It eerily mirrors many of the circumstances in the sinking of the Titanic 14 years later, which the author, as many supposed, premonitorily conceived.
He attributes the accuracy of the later events as mere coincidence and due to his knowledge of shipbuilding and maritime procedures.
Prediction almost in an eerie way
This work of literature is very well written but it is eerie seeing that years later a ship by the name Titanic would be built and sink in almost the exact same fashion. This book from what I have read became popular after the disaster saying if more people had read it that the titanic disaster could have been avoided due to this story as a somewhat prediction of the future. It is defiantly worth the read
