The subtlety of madness
A tragedy, a horror, and a satire. Never before have I been so startled by the description of a wall… and the slow descent into madness propelled by the over abundance of care by John is simply ingenious albeit saddening.
I will always love this
Every time I read this story it brings out so many emotions. This is considered a classic for a reason. A woman suffering postpartum depression that is further subjected to isolation under the command of her husband. This isn’t a happy story but an important one. Written in 1892, this is truly a masterpiece ahead of its time. I love this story and am sure I will read it over and over many times.
