INTRODUCTION The goal of our paper is to point to the future by looking at the past. We look at the theoretical papers published in the Journal of Supply Chain Management (JSCM) and the journal of Operations Management (JOM) and characterize these papers in terms of how the authors framed their theoretical argument and advanced the theoretical foundation of the operations management and supply chain management (OM/SCM) field.
