Ekambaram Karunakaran- a demure,  industrious and self-driven man from a small village in Tamil Nadu achieved a feat that inscribed his name in golden letters in the history of Indian Sports.


Though stymied by several obstacles- penury in childhood and later the menace of corruption and favoritism, he fought courageously against all odds. His career spanning around thirty years testified the saying “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!”
